2016 Family Cruise on Sapphire Princess: Come Back New (Day 5 - Getting of the Ship & Fly Back Ipoh)

We move on to the last day on Sapphire Princess. If you have missed our experience on Day 1, Day 2, Day 3 and Day 4, check them out here Sapphire Princess Day 1  Sapphire Princess Day 2

It's the last day and finally, we have to say Goodbye Sapphire Princess. Sad to leave such a wonderful ship. We all had a great experience on this ship for the past 4 days. Very relaxed and enjoyed the holiday. We were very reluctant to leave the ship on that day. We need to disembark around 9am as the ship needs to be ready for next embarktion for that day. We gathered at Santa Fe Dining Room for disembarktion procedure. Our passport was given back to us the night before by our room steward.

Walking out - disembarking

Me and biri going down the ship. Bye bye Sapphire Princess!

We all took a taxi straight to Changi Airport to wait for our flight at 3.30pm. We reached around 9.30am and we spent a few hours at the airport.

We all walked around the air port and saw Star Wars!

Took this picture as a proof that I had visited Singapore

We need to get on the plane around 3pm and we walked to the Terminal and passed by this beautiful fish pond and garden inside the airport. Fascinating

Here's our Tigerair plane from far

This is the first flight experience we had (me, mum, dad and my Biri). See how happy I looked after boarding the plane! Haha..

Hi from us the biri family

The plane slowly reversed and the slowly went through a long road before flying off.

We're up in the sky...

So what's the feeling of flying for the first time? I felt very nauseous the whole journey! Thank god that it was about 45 minutes journey from Singapore to Ipoh.

Not good!

We reached Ipoh around 4.30pm and finally got off the plane around 5.00pm. It was raining in Ipoh and the poor facility of the airport; we had to use umbrella to walk to the airport after getting down from the plane. No shelter provided! Poor facility of our Ipoh airport

We safely landed at Ipoh

I wanted to say that this whole 5 days trip on Sapphire Princess was magnificent. We had a great time and came back new. Very looking forward for our next cruise on Princess again. My husband said the next time will be going only with our small family. And he said to go on Princess again as he loved the customer service provided and also the great experience on the ship. Till we meet again next time Princess Cruise! Keep up the good work and provide the best customer service again!

Love,
Grace, the Biri Mummy!

2016 Family Cruise on Sapphire Princess: Come Back New (Day 4 - Relaxing on the Ship)

We move on to our Day 4 on Sapphire Princess. If you have missed our experience on Day 1, Day 2 and Day 3, check them out here Sapphire Princess Day 1 Sapphire Princess Day 2 Sapphire Princess Day 3

On the 4th Day, the ship docked at Port Klang, KL. But we have decided not to go down as there is nothing much on this port. We spent the whole day on the ship, enjoying ourselves to the max. We had our breakfast at Horizon Court as usual and we headed straight for morning swim. So, not much picture we took on that day. We basically relaxed and enjoy the facilities to the max. I just walked around alone and snapped some photos of the bars. Well, we did not sit in any of the bars for the past few days on the ship.

My hubby and biri were resting in the room during that afternoon while me and my parents enjoyed the last day on the ship, watching movies in the cabin and then enjoying High Tea for the first time! My first time too!
Let me share our delighted High Tea experience. Once entered the dining Hall (we went to Vivaldi Dining Room at Deck 5), the waiter guided us to the table of 3. After seated, the waiter set the napkin on our laps and laid the forks and knives on the table. Another waiter came with tea pots and milk, asking if we would like to have some tea. After the tea served, another waiter came with a smile on his face and a tray of mini sandwishes on his arm, asking if we would like someof the sandwishes. And then continuously different waiters and waitresses came to serve us scones, muffins, cookies, cakes and jams.

We all went for dining in The Savoy Dining Room that night. We did not make reservation and we were brought to a table nearby the window

I love the table setting in the dining rooms. Elegent

Hubby's main - steak as usual!

Hubby's dessert - Alaska (without the fire)

My no-sugar tapioca pudding - not fantastic at all

After dinner, we went down again to the Piazza to grab our last supper - our favourite ham & cheese croissant and chicken sandwich!

Then, we all went back for bed! Last night on the ship.... Sobz!

2016 Family Cruise on Sapphire Princess: Come Back New (Day 3-Visiting Langkawi)

We move on to our Day 3 on Sapphire Princess. If you have missed our experience on Day 1 and Day 2, check them out here Sapphire Princess Day 1 & Sapphire Princess Day 2

On Day 3, Sapphire Princess stopped for Langkawi. We decided to get down for our visit around 11am. After our hearty breakfast at Horizon Court, we proceeded to disembarking the ship. The ship was floating apart from the jetty as Royal Carribean Ship - Mariner of the Sea was already docked at the Star Cruise Jetty. So, we had to take a small ferry to the island. Again, it was a hot day at Langkawi. We were excited for our visit to the Underwater World Langkawi. There were a few major attraction at Langkawi i.e. Underwater World, Wildlife Park, Cable Car Ride, Oriental Village, Pantai Cenang and etc. But I have decided to go for Underwater World as my son and parents love to see fishes.

On the ferry to go to jetty

Mariner of the Sea is docked at the jetty

We tried to get a cab from Resort World Langkawi, but I find that the taxi services was very bad. Can you imagine tourists were queuing outside the resort lobby waiting for taxis? The lobby steward informed that taxis there will seldom come into the resort as they prefer parking along the main road offering whole day tour and not short distance tour for people like us. Finally, the same resort lobby steward used their own van to send us and a few guests from the resort to Cenang. he charged us RM12 for the 5 min ride there which was reasonable.

Then, we began our exploration in Underwater World. Again, enjoy the pictures we took of the beautiful marine life inside.

Welcome to Underwater World Langkawi

After our tour, we went for our duty free shopping and also souvenir shopping. I got some lovely key chains for my colleagues and best friends.

Heading back to the ship

Bye Langkawi

We then go back to the same jetty and wait to go back onboard again as it was really hot on Langkawi. My son literally got sun burnt the next day - with cute red cheeks and chin. Haha. The hot weather also made him super tired and he fell asleep in my husband's arms while in the ferry. So we quickly got back into the Piazza and put him down on the comfy sofa for his nap. We, the adults, had our hearty lunch at the International Cafe and Alfredo Pizzeria! The pizza was just so-so compared to the delicious Ham and Cheese Croissont that my parents and me loved most on the ship! We literally had it every day!

Then we went to see Movies Under the 'Sun'!

So relaxed!

Sun set soon

My hubby and I went to explore some of the restaurants and made a booking for the Sabatini's Italian Restaurant for that night. We were keen to try out Lobsters using the free USD given to us during our cruise. As I had mentioned in my post here the cost per pax at Sabatini's is USD25 nett per pax for ala carte 'buffet'. You can always reorder if you can eat, but believe me, with the full 5 course meal, your stomach will not have anymore space for 2nd round. Here's what we had for the Fine Dining Dinner that day!

Looking at the menu

Starter provided by the chef. But, we don't like it. It's smoked ham.

Lovely ambience for dinner

Waiting for food to arrive

  Me and my man

 Muacks

Seafood soup - mussels my favourite

 Fried calamari starter

Seafood spaghetti - mum's portion

Hubby's steak - with super salty beans

Our main target for the dinner - lobster!

 Bon apetite!

Desserts - very chocolaty tiramisu with rich coffee ice cream

Coffee creme brulee - sweet

After our dinner around 9.15pm, we quickly headed to the Princess Theater for our second show on the ship. Thath night was a performance by a vocalist from America. I could not remember his name, but he has a very beautiful voice and he is very handsome for sure (though i couldn't see him closer). We were seated very far away for sure but from the voice, I can bet he is good looking! =P. He presented a round 10 songs. Along which included a few chinese songs. Yes! Chinese songs. He sang chinese song man! Very accurate chinese accent

After the show, we all walked around the ship and then head back to our cabin. Good night!
