Bamboo charcoal

Last sunday I was surprised to know something called bamboo charcoal from Jyn Ling, one of my besties. I never heard of BAMBOO charcoal b4 but I know what is charcoal of coz. LOLZ...

^^

Upon hearing the benefits of natural ingredient like bamboo charcoal, I bought myself a bamboo charcoal cleanser for acne treatment.
No doubt my pimples are getting more and I'm desperate for proper solution. The promoter suggested me to try out their bamboo charcoal cleanser as she strongly stressed that natural ingredients are better than chemical cleanser. Well I wanted to get my skin problem away so I take the risk and bought the cleanser. Here are what the promoter told me for beauty secrets:

  • Do not pick on the pimples coz our finger tips are extremely dirty
  • Upon using this cleanser, there might b chances where more pimples will appear as the active ingredients cleanse deep into the our skin to force all the toxins and pimples out. So do not pick on the zits, just keep washing
  • Use 2 to 3 times daily and keep your face clean using clean towel

I've used for 2 days plus and amazingly, those big big pimples are reducing, but of coz there are pimples popping out too..I just hope what the girl said is true...after 1 week will b much better!

Lemon Chicken Recipe

I'm sure most people love to eat lemon chicken rite? Haha..I personally love it very much =) Now here is the simple recipe for lemon chicken

Lemon Chicken Recipe

Ingredients:

  • Chicken meat / parts
  • Oyster sauce *
  • Salt *
  • Sugar *
  • Fried chicken flour
  • Corn flour
  • Lemon zest [juice: filter from the pulp and seeds, roungly one lemon for 1 chicken]
  • Asam sauce
  • Oil
  • Water

* are for chicken marinade

Cooking methods:

  1. First like usual, marinade your chicken parts with appropriate oyster sauce, sugar and salt for 30 minutes at least. Set aside

  2. Then heat up enough oil in the wok and when it is hot, fry the chicken that has been covered with fried chicken flour or corn flour, until it is golden brown

  3. Drain from excess oil and set aside

  4. To prepare the sauce, first pour in the asam sauce in the wok and then add desireable amount of water to dilute the sauce.

  5. Then add in the lemon juice slowly. Do not pour all as we afraid it might be too sour. Once the 'lemon soury taste' reach ur expectations, then u can add some sugar to taste. You can even use the lemon skin [without pulp] to create stronger lemon taste in your sauce

  6. To thicken the sauce, use the corn stock made from corn flour and water. While adding bit by bit, constantly stirring the liquid till it's thickened!

  7. Lastly, you can either mix the sauce with the chicken straight away, or you can simply pour on top of the chicken b4 serving!

Happy trying :)

Salted Duck Egg Yolk Chicken Recipe

Ingredient:
  • Chicken parts *
  • Oyster sauce *
  • Sugar *
  • Salt *
  • Fried chicken flour/corn flour
  • Salted duck eggs (yolk only) [3-4 for 1 whole chicken]
  • Curry leaves (few stalks)
  • Evaporated milk
  • Oil
  • Butter or margerine

* are to marinade the chicken

Methods??

I'm sure most people will dare not try this recipe for health purpose. Salted egg yolk high in cholesterol. But you can still enjoy this recipe the healthier way : eg. Remove all the skin and solid and visible fat from the chicken, or simply just use chicken breast meat. You can also use less egg yolk if you want

  1. First marinade the chicken with above ingredients for 30 minutes, at least.
  2. Once ready, coat the chicken with fried chicken flour or corn flour. In the mean time, steam the salted egg yolks till cooked. Once it is done, mash it with fork and set aside
  3. Heat up oil in your wok and when it's heated, deep fry the chicken parts till golden brown and drain from excess oil
  4. After all chicken parts are fried, heat up your work with some oil, roughly about 2 table spoon, or you can use butter or margerine for better taste. The amount of fat and oil is various among individuals
  5. Then, add in the mashed salted egg yolks and stir well till the fragrant is up
  6. Add in curry leaves and mix. After some time, slowly add in the evaporated milk. Keep stirring to make the liquid dries up faster. Add in more milk if it's too dry.
  7. Be reminded that the milk with salted egg yolk should not be too thick or too watery before adding the chicken
  8. Remember to add some sugar and salt to taste.
  9. Finally add in the fried chicken and keep stirring till the milk dries up. You're done!

Next recipe??? Guess yourself!

For broccoli lover

Ahhemm...So sorry for neglecting my blog for so long! Haha...Today wanna update on a recipe again. This recipe is specially for those who love broccoli so much...for eg. my own loukong..He loves this broccoli in oyster sauce. Well I must admit this is a very simple dish and I'm sure if I can do it...you can make it too! It's pretty simple btw

Broccoli in Oyster Sauce

Ingredients:
  • Broccoli (chopped to small pieces)
  • Carrot (sliced thin) *
  • Garlic (chopped finely)
  • Oyster sauce
  • Water
  • Corn flour
  • Sugar to taste

* is optional. You can also include some meat in this recipe if u like :)

How to cook??? :

  1. Firstly you need to boil some water in the wok in order to blanch ur veges [blanch is to fast cook you vege for like 1 minute in boiling water]
  2. Once the water is boiled, throw in the broccoli. * if you r using carrots too, then first put in the carrots then after few seconds, put in broccoli, this is because carrots are naturally harder
  3. After you see the bright colours of broccoli is there, drain it from water and set aside
  4. The heat up the wok and saute the chopped garlic with some oil until it's fragrant. If you are adding meat, then saute it too at this stage till it's cooked
  5. Add in oyster sauce and some water. The amount of water depends on how much sauce u want for your dish
  6. Mix the sauce well and let it simmer till boil. Add some sugar for taste. In the mean time, prepare you corn stock [corn flour add with water]
  7. When the sauce boils, add in the corn stock slowly, while you other hand keep stiring the sauce. The amount of corn stock added depends on the consistency of your sauce
  8. Once the sauce reaches the consistency that you want, then add in the broccoli and let it simmer till the vege is soft.
  9. Then, your broccoli in oyster sauce is done!

Enjoy :)
