Update after tired weekends..

Weekend has been really stressful and tiring as I would have to finish up many things and study for this week..Phew..really tiring and depressing as my weekend turned up to be dull and not exciting as I always had.. ='(

Last weekend I tried to make my day more by making colorful breakfast..Cheese sandwich with yellow and red cherry tomatoes.. Colorful and nutritious..

Today is Tuesday and I could not believe that I got a surprise from my BF. We just got back from grocery shopping in Jusco and while I was pouring my oatmeal into the container, he approached me from behind asking me to close eyes he wanna do magic but I cannot see it. So I obeyed him and he put a necklace around my neck..To my surprise he gave me beautiful little diamond necklace...Thanks honey...Muacks =)

So long for this time..got to continue reading my journals and do some work..Good night world..=)

Today is sunday and its a happy day! ^^ This morning I made breakfast following a recipe from the recipe book I posted yesterday. Today's breakfast menu is Mushroom omelet.

The Ingredients:

1/4 cup thinly sliced onion
1 teaspoon cooking oil
3-4 eggs lightly beaten
1/4 cup fat-free milk
1/8 teaspoon black pepper (ground)
1/2 cup shredded reduced-fat mozarella cheese
8 cherry tomatoes

Servings: 4 servings

Methods:
1. Preheat non-stick pan with some oil
2. Stir in mushroom and onions and stir till cook (5-7 minutes)
3. In a bowl mix egg, milk and black pepper together. Then, pour in the egg mixture into the pan.
4. Let the egg sit until the edge begins to cook. Use low to medium heat to cook the egg. Using a spoon or spatula, lift and fold the egg partially
5. Sprinkle on cheese on top of the egg and remove from heat immediately

Masak Masak!

Emmmmm.... It's good to be devouring in good and delicious foods... I'm a person who loves to eat.. and loves to cook. To those who know me well, they know that I enjoy cooking and because of this, they labelled me as 'House-wife' wtf! Well, loves to doesn't mean a good wife. But I must admit that my passion for cooking has bring a bad effect to my hubby. Sobz.. His central obesity is worsening.. OMG! But he just seem to be ignoring it. Haiz...

Yesterday we both cooked together for lunch and the menu of the day is Home Made Fish and Chip.

So how to prepare this?

Ingredients:
(A) Dory fillet
~ Dory fillet
~ Salt
~ Lemon zest and juice
~ Corn flour
~ Egg
~ Bread crumb

(B) French fries
~ Potato
~ Salt

(C) Salad
~ Vegetables of your choice
~ Yogurt
~ Lemon juice
~ Black pepper (grind)
~ Pinch of Salt + Sugar

(D) Tartar sauce
~ Mayonnaise
~ Lemon juice

Steps:
Dory Fillet
1. Marinade the dory fillet with salt, lemon zest and juice for about 1/2 hour
2. Remove the excess water from dory fillet with kitchen towel
3. Coat dory fillet with corn flour evenly, then coat it with beaten egg
4. Lastly, coat the fillet with bread crumb. Be sure that it is coated evenly
5. Prepare oil in a wok. The right temperature for deep frying is 180 degree celcius, if you cannot measure the temperature, check it by dropping a little bread crumb into the oil. Sizzling and bubbling of the bread crumb indicate the right temperature.
6. Fry the fillet until golden brown. Remove it from the oil and drain off excess oil on kitchen towel or cooling rack

* REMEMBER to fry at the right temperature and heat. Control the burner to get the right heat. DO NOT cook the fillet with very high heat as it will over brown the coating of the fillet, but the fish is not cooked inside.

French fries
7. Cut potato into 1/2 x 1/2 inch size length wise (the length and size are flexible to you desire)
8. Soak the potato strips into salt water for 1/2 hour
9. Drain off excess water and use kitchen towel to dry it further
10. Set it aside for the water to further evaporates
11. Deep fry the potato just like the way of frying dory fillet.

Salad
12. Clean the vegetables and drain off excess water
13. Cut it to small pieces and put in a bowl
14. Add yogurt, black pepper, pinch of salt, sugar and some lemon juice.
15. Mix everything thoroughly

Tartar sauce
16. Simply mix evenly mayonnaise and lemon juice.

17. Serve everything on a plate and enjoy your home made fish and chips!

Enjoy and good luck in the kitchen (adapted from Cooking with The Dog)

Bel Pasto Italian Restaurant

Today I went for lunch with Baby at Bel Pasto Italian Restaurant at Kepong Baru. The have two branch one in Kepong Baru, and another one in Kepong, near Aman Puri Condominium. The food prices there are pretty standard for those dine-in restaurant. The only thing we find worth dining is their set lunch. Their set lunch ranges from RM9.90 to RM29.90. The cheapest set is the one that me and my love always go for. The set consists of a soup of the day, main course and a glass or drink.

My favorite choice of main course is always the Spaghetti Olio while my baby boy is Pizza Margeritta.. Their soup of the day for today is Cream of Chicken..which I personally find not as appetizing as the pumpkin soup..

Forgotten to take my Spaghetti Olio..my bad! Sorry..But this is how the pizza and soup looks like:

You can see the ambiance and the surroundings in the restaurant. Well it looks quite bright in the restaurant but the lighting is quite dim and will be very romantic for couples at night. Minus the noisy conversations by other people, this place is suitable for couples as a romantic date. But today there was a lot of people and it was very very noisy..i can barely hear what my love was talking about! =.="

My custard pudding is done! My first time experience of making caramel...

This is the best pudding ever...I love it.!

Cooking on the run

Lately, I've been cooking my meals everyday. There will be fruits and vegetables daily and protein. My protein sources are fish, lean chicken breast meat and egg. For rice, I take low glycemic index (GI) source like brown rice. I enjoyed cooking like I said b4. It's been ages since I last posted any cooking recipe..Well, been super busy to try out new recipe.

Tang Yuen Jie just passed not long ago. I totally forgotten to post a beautiful picture of the glutinous rice balls sweet that I made..

I love colors and when you see the glutinous rice balls, you will know the colorful ones are mine..

My plan for tomorrow is to try this Custard pudding out! I've tried out the Pumpkin pottage by this channel and it's super easy to make. Delicious as well... try this out too : Pumpkin

Best of luck to me!
