Bali...We're Coming Soon!

Hello Readers,

Hubby and I are married for 2 years this year 16 September 2016 will be our 3rd year together as husband and wife. After married, we did not manage to go for our honeymoon as our baby was growing. We had decided to go after baby gets older. Now that our Mochi Biri is 2+ years, we had decided that it's time to go for our long delayed honeymoon this April. We had planned this early this year.

We had decided to go for Bali as this place had lots of private pool villas to offer. I have always wanted a honeymoon with private villas with pool for total privacy. Hotels are a NO-NO for me when it comes to honeymoon. We went through Agoda.com and Booking.com to search for the cheap rates of private pool villa. We made some comparisons for the villas and read some reviews from the travellers before deciding which villa to go for. In the end, we had chosen Unagi Villas at Canggu Bali after reading many good reviews for their villas condition and customer service given.

They offer one bedroom private pool villa - just what we wanted. Booking directly from their official website is cheaper compared to other booking websites. We booked for 2 nights at the villa for total of IDR 1,949,000.24 (RM573.83) -which I think is very cheap for a private pool villa. Feel Lonely at Work

I just feel like writing down how I feel for the past few weeks at work. I used to have a 'close friend' here at work. She's a nice Indian girl with great personality. She's sweet and happy all the time. We were very 'clicked' every time we were together. Even from far, seeing her I would be so happy and cheerful. We would talk about a lot of things, she used to be my listener for everything. And so am I a listener to her. Last month onwards, I noticed some changes in her. She was not as cheerful as she used to be. She was quiet and she somehow distanced from talking to me. That time, I wrote a small noted to apologise to her, for I was afraid I had did or said something wrong, causing her this way. But she said it was not me, and after some time, she was back to her old self. Happy and cheerful. We hanged out again after she was OK. She told me about the issues with her superior and that was when I knew her down mood was because of her boss.

We still hung out that time for lunch. When she wanted to go out, I would go with her though I had brought my own lunch. For I felt that my friend ajak, I should go with her to make her happy and comfortable. But somehow, I felt after I did not manage to make it to one of our colleague's wedding last minute, she had changed. Not sure is it she was angry I did not go for the wedding or something else.

 

She began to show me black face all the time when I talked to her. There was one day, I insisted to go for breakfast with her for I felt that I should be there to cheer her up. Unfortunately, when I sat down together with other Indian colleagues on the same table, they all chatted happily using their mother tongue. I sat there eating myself could not get into the conversation. I felt disrespected that time. She wouldn't do that to me last time. Though they did speak Tamil most of the time, but she would get back to me and chat something else. That time, I was like outsider. When the rest of the colleagues walked away, I tried talking to her. But the situation was the same, she refused to talk to me. Just answer with one sentence or one word.

 I felt the tension and I was not comfortable too. The Indian colleagues came back and they continue to chat in Tamil again. This was very annoying and I excused myself and left the table. I felt hurt and not respected. I texted her after I was back in the office for I felt hurt during the breakfast time. She did not reply me.

From that day since, I don't want to join breakfast anymore. Just to let her cool down a bit and see how. When I went to one program in conference room a week later, I purposely walked to her like a friend and tapped on her shoulder. Made a conversation. She just smiled and pushed my hand away and she walked away to the stage. I had confirmed myself that I had lost my one and only closer friend at work. I thought she had said to me that I'm her best friend there. When I got baby, I got to let her know and vice versa.

I had no idea what happened that she treated me like that. I would prefer she talked it out with me. If she wanted to make it clear that we are not friends anymore, then just say it properly. At least let me know why I was treated that way. Fair enough.

From this incident, I would say that our friendship is not very strong as I thought we were. It's saddening and I was affected by this. For 2-3 weeks now, I felt very lonely and moody. I stayed in office most of the time because it's awkward to go breakfast when we used to sit together and now, we sit separately. I know people would have asked her what happened. I had no idea what she would have replied. But I'm sure that I did not do anything offending her. I hope it's not her personal problems that make our friendship ended....

Hope myself will recover and accept this reality soon!

Short Getaway from the Heat: Small Family Genting Trip 2016

As everyone knows, Malaysia now is struck by the recent hot season throughout March and it expected to drag on till April. The weather has been super hot and there were many cases of citizen down with heat stroke. Fortunately, hubby and I were offered free room from Genting First World Hotel and we redeemed it for 3D2N stay in First World Hotel Standard Room. We just came back from the short getaway on 26th to 28th March 2016. As this was a short getaway, we went with the young ones - my brother Lawrence and his GF Shanelle. We all drove to Genting on Saturday after off work around 2pm and reached Genting at 4.30pm. We checked in via the kiosk machine. Didn't manage to take much photos as our son was pretty clingy and cried when we tried to put him down. Thus, our hands were occupied most of the time. Expecially hubby's.

After checking in, we rested awhile in the room before headed to the First World Indoor Theme Park. As we had arrived late, we had to maximize our time to take all the indoor rides with Biri. Unfortunately, Rio Float is closed too. The only rides we really enjoyed was Raindeer Family ride. Our son was super 'cho pet', what also scared. He refused to take his own children rides this time. So he went to Fun Land and played for nearly 1 hour there with other kids. This really made me worry as he appears to be scared all the time, refused to go down the floor to walk on his own, wanted to be carried all the time. This trip was a tiring one. Really!

Then, we went for our dinner at First World Plaza. We saw some 'cheap' menu - Roti Telur 2 pcs for RM7.50 only at Curry In  A Hurry Restaurant. I told my brother and GF that we thought of dining there since it's cheaper for the roti. They opted for Nasi Campur. OMG! It's super expensive! Shanelle's rice (portion was big though) with lots of sambal prawns and egg and sotong was priced at RM44++. We were shocked with the food price there though it's good. I find that Genting Highland's food was overly priced and not reasonable. That's why we had brought so many own foods there! Haha! We brought egg tarts, coconut tarts, chicken pie, banana cakes, cup noodles, junk foods, canned drinks, 3in1 drinks and etc.

 After dinner, we went back to the room as Biri was fishing the whole time during the dinner. Too tired. But, he refused to sleep after we went back to the room. We headed out again for another Raindeer ride since we had paid for the whole day unlimited rides. After that, we went back room. My brother and GF had separate program from us as they went shopping on their own. We met for dinner only and had our supper of Cup Noodles in the room!

The next day, we all decided to have our own breakfast in the room to save cost. We made some drinks and cup noodles. We also finished up all the foods that we brought up there. After our simple breakfast, we headed to the Bus Shuttle to Chin Swee Temple. We did not manage to take much photos again due to Mochi Biri (too sticky). We sat there and enjoyed the cool breeze. It was so relaxing and cold up there.

We then went back to First World Plaza and went back our room to lazy a while before headed down again to Snow World at 12.30pm. We had so much of trouble getting Mochi Biri to wear the thick jacket, boots and gloves. He refused to wear the gloves and cried once enter Snow World. Failed! In the end, hubby decided to take him out and kept him warm outside.

Me, brother and Shanelle explore the Snow World for 30 minutes. It was freezing cold inside and super slippery. The boots are totally useless. I thought it was suppose to keep us safe from slips but it did not. Useless! I had no idea why Genting closed so many atrractions during this Holiday week of Easter Day. Even the slides in snow world is closed! Whats the point of entering snow world without the fun? Not just that, the staff did not allow us to take pictures in Snow World! OMG! That was another stupid policy from Genting! But anyway, we were not so stupid to follow it. We took just a few pictures as proof that we had entered Snow World. Totally not worth the price.

After coming out, we joined some memory game outside Snow World in conjuction with Easter Day and won some cheap prizes. Then, the staff asked us to participate with 'Guess The Eggs' contest by Snapping a Photo of us with the bottle of chocolate eggs and post it to Genting Facebook page and guess how many chocolates in the bottle. By participating, we will received RM50 voucher to spend at SaSa. 4 of us took part and got RM200 total voucher to spend at SaSa. So quickly we went to spend some time in SaSa and grabbed some goodies for ourselves and for our mum! Tadah! Masks, and body care!

After shopping, we went back room to rest as we all were tired. All of us slept till around 5pm and woke up to go down for our dinner. We wanted to go for KFC but when we reached Vision City, we could not find the KFC. Haha. In the end, we decided to go for Marrybrown after played some games in Vision City. For your information, we were given RM30 EziCash Credit with the purchase of our Indoor Ticket. So we used the 30 credit for games there. The Marrybrown food was not excellent because it taste bland, chicken size was very small - not filling at all. So after the dinner, we headed to the Visitor's Galleria and Mochi Biri had so much fun there running around to 'chiak chiak' with us. He also had fun kicking the balloon. Hubby and Brother went to Casino to try their luck with the slot machine. Brother was given RM30 for slot game after applying his Genting Reward Card. In the end, he kalah habis RM30.

So, we all stopped at The Bakery at Maxims to enjoy the night of Uno Game and some pastries and donuts. It was a cold night! We played till nearly 10pm before going back to the room. Shanelle suddenly wanted to eat rice again and we went to 'Good Friend' Restaurant to tapao Roasted Pork Rice. Ordering of the food was easy through a kiosk machine, after paying, we can straight collect the food at the counter by showing the receipt. Easy, fast and convenient. The rice was good they said!

The second night I was too tired and slept around 11 something. We had to go down Genting the next day so I had packed everything on that night. On the last day, we woke up around 8am and went down for breakfast at Food Factory at Level 3. The price of the buffet is RM29/ adult. Children below 12 years old are free. The food option was limited but the taste of the food was decent. Nothing very special. But the food was fulfilling to us. I especially enjoyed the scrambled egg and porridge. The nasi lemak was good too!

After breakfast, we headed down to check out. We brought our luggages down and put in the car. Then we all headed back to the Vision City to use off the last credits in the card. So we played a few rounds of games and after that, we went out to enjoy the last breeze of Genting. It was very misty and cold. Enjoyed the cool weather there very much.

Then, we all headed down to First World Plaza again to enjoy the last Bowling game before leaving Genting. We all had two games. Bowling game during 12pm - 1pm was only RM3.80 per game excluding shoe rental. Only me, brother and hubby played. I was the worst bowling player among 3 of us (lowest score).

After our bowling, we decided to go down already. Good bye to Genting. We hope to come again soon in the future!

STUPID GENTING POLICY!

Both hubby and I got complimentary rooms from Genting; where hubby got 2 nights stay and mine is 1 night stay at Genting First World Hotel in March. We both redeemed the rooms and I had asked my brother and his GF if they wanted to join us. They quickly nodded. We planned to go from 26^th to 28^th March 2016, in conjunction with Good Friday and Easter Sunday on 27^th March. As there are only two nights stay, we have to book another room to continue with the complimentary room. My brother will stay in that room. At first, we booked on 25^th March as we thought to go there after work on Friday. But unfortunately, hubby’s leave was not approved due to some internal reasons. So, we thought of amending the room from 25^th to 27^th check in (our complimentary room check in 26^th March). 

Unfortunately Genting refused to assist us with amending the date. We are not asking for any refund of the room, but they still refuse to accommodate us, which made me very pissed off and disappointed with their customer service.  Genting was very restrictive with their ‘policy’ that no amendment/cancellation/refund can be made once the booking is confirmed. It should depend on the situation since customer asked for assistance to change the booking date due to unforeseeable situations. Plus, we asked for this request almost a month before the check-in, which has given ample time and reasons to assist us. Usually if the request made too near to the date, then it is difficult to accommodate. But such minute request to amend the booking date is soooo difficult to accommodate by Genting. They even ask us to provide official proof that we cannot make it. The customer service agent even asked me to asked husband to get his boss to write an official letter that we cannot make it. Seriously? The trip is a personal thing, and Genting want us to involve our boss to write letter for it? Very ridiculous. And because of this we had to book another room and this room, we got to waste it for nothing. I can never forget this stupid incident. We paid double to genting because of the stupid policy!!!! 

Phew! What a release! I'm very angry still with the policy! Argghh!

Hope Genting management can read this post and improve their service to assist the customer! 

My Best Friend is Getting Married

I celebrated my belated birthday with Jyn Ling's belated birthday last month and I only get to post the celebration today. Jyn Ling's and my birthday is gap by 1 month exactly. So normally we will celebrate together =) This year, we celebrated at Crossover Cafe. We did not manage to take any food picture as we all were too hungry! Haha

Friends forever!

One of my best friends - Ms. Ngeaw had broke the news to us that she is getting married this year in June. I was so excited for her. It was shocking for me as I did not expect this girl wanted to get married so early. But, anyway, decision is made and it is good that she's marrying already. I'm excited as a friend! And emotional too. Feels like crying!

I was so silly that I had even think that she's not yet ready for marriage. I told her fiance that I've entrusted my best friend's happiness to him. He has to take good care of her or else, I will smack him. Haha! I sincerely happy for my best friend getting married. I wished her happy always and hang fuk after married. =)

I shall start thinking what to give her for her wedding! Any ideas?

Hormonal Acne Post-Birth Control

Hi everyone.

After posted previously on my natural skin care regime, I'm going to drop an update on my skin condition. In the previous post, I had mentioned that I started to break out due to the Juju Aquamoist product I used. But, though I had stopped the products and currently using the natural regime for my skin, I still suffer my breakouts but it's just not as crazy as before. When come to think about this, I did wonder what actually happened.

As I noticed, my cystic acne normally pop out along my jawline, and more on the right side of my face. After my last facial done in December, my large cystic acne had lessen. There are still cystic ance popping out occasionally. As usual, it's on the right side of my face. I began to question myself; what could be the cause of the sudden 'outbreak'? I Googled the cause of breakout based on face mapping. Hah! The root cause of my jawline cystic acne are probably hormonal acne as I have tried various skin care products and even pimple cream but it didn ot subside. But what cause my hormonal acne to be so terrible?

I traced back to the sequence of event, where I noticed that after I stopped taking my birth control injection, this condition began to flare. Then I started to Google for acne post-birth control. Yup! Most articles I read stated that it is perfectly normal that the hormone changes after stopping birth control. Birth control method like pills and injections control the levell of androgen (male hormone) in the body. Excess androgen will increase oil secretion in the skin and make the pores easily clog. The birth control methods will suppress the androgen in the body, thus, the skin will be perfect. =) After stopping birth control, the androgen level will increase, causing excess oil production and causing large cystic acne.

Now, after stopping my injection since last year October, it's been about 1/2 year already and my skin is still terrible. It will take some time for the hormone to balance out. But I can say that it has improved a lot from the beginning when I got a lot of cystic acne here and there. I went for my recent facial a week ago and the beautician still said my skin is very bad. But compared to before, it has improved. My face currently is filled with white heads, focusing mostly on both side of my cheeks and forehead.

I really hope that my skin will improve in time. I had started using essence and serum as I see no improvement from my face oil. I add snail and bee Essence from Benton and Hyaluronic Acid Serum to help my scars fade faster, with the hope that it will calm my acne down a bit.

 

I had used the Snail Bee Essence and Hyaluronic Acid for 1 week already and I can definitely feel the difference. My skin is healing faster, though the bumps are still there, but it's clamer, less red. Hope it will be better soon before my Genting Trip and also Bali Honeymoon in April. Just to update on these two products, I have stopped using them after my Beautician told me my bumps on my whole face could be associated with these products. She told me that the Hyaluronic Acid may not be authentic and had other ingredients in it causing breakouts. She asked me to stop using these products to see if the bumps subsided after the facial.
