Update on CNY 2012

In FB, I've seen everybody updating pictures of their CNY but different for me, I don't like to post anything about CNY there. I find that CNY is something personal to me and I prefer sharing in blog where there's only some people viewing it. My mum told me that every year CNY will be full of CNY feeling and moods after I am back to Ipoh. She said it is because I will be rushing everyone in the family to decorate the house with red items and will be playing CNY songs over and over again. This is so true about me. I enjoy CNY especially when the songs were filling my ears and creating the happy mood in me and my family..

This year we have cute dragon decorations at the front door of our house. Very cute right?

I went ahead to celebrate CNY with besties and Jyn Ling surprised me with my be-early birthday present. She gave me a beautiful Korean style long sleeve shirt. The materials are really good and the shirt is very soft and comfy. Perfect for my Genting trip with JC next week...

Traveling is very hectic and for me, my skin care products are definitely with me all the way. Just for fun, I packed my skin care products in travel size bag. In the pouch, there is my eyeliner, mascara, dental floss, eye cream, toner, AHA cleanser, essence, sun block and pore strips. Well, aloe vera gel is too big for the pouch..I guess I will be getting the travel size soon and fit it in the pouch for my trip next week..

Family fish business

I think I mentioned before this that my family has a family business of selling pet fishes and I'd taken some pictures of the fishes that we are selling most right now. As the supplier, it is really challenging and important to breed new fishes for more marketability. Here are some of the Betta Fighting Fish that we have. This one is called "Full Moon". Full Moon is because of the shape of its tail and fins which spread out nicely and shaped like a full moon.

I've made some advertisement for our new fishes at our home. I've not taken the picture yet of what sort of 'advertisement and promotions of our new fishes..

Using some soft board, I've wrapped it with mahjong paper and then decorated the board with the pictures of the Betta fishes. This is a mini project I made for my dad's business ^_^

This is the completed 'advertisement' of the fishes. Yup.I wrote the chinese words despite I'm totally a NON CHINESE EDUCATED girl, but I'm not a full BANANA [I've upgraded my standard to partial banana by knowing how to speak and read simple chinese writings]

We place the pictures right above the fishes which turns out to be really attractive and I can tell you that, business has improved since the pictures were up! Amazing..

Hope in the Year of Dragon, my family business will rise and be better!

CNY 2012

This year is another CNY. As usual, CNY can be boring and also exciting. The boring part is that nothing much we can do or go during CNY as most places will be closed or prices of food will be more expensive compared to before CNY. The most exciting part for me would be celebrating my baby boy's birthday yesterday. Although unexpectedly we had some small cold wars during the date, but fortunately we were fine the same night. I really doubted my value for him when we were having the cold wars and I asked him, "If I'm having something that you don't really like then why are you still loving me? I worth it?"

My heart melted when he told me, "That is for me to decide to love who and who is worth is and you are the one"

Although I was upset with the cold war on his birthday, but I was touched when he said I'm the one he's loving and worth it to him despite all my flaws...I will appreciate this...HAPPY BIRTHDAY again baby if you were reading this =)

Ok, here I just wanted to update or promote a skin remedy that I swear by to keep skin clear and blemish free (nearly blemish free). I've been trying this remedy for almost a month right now and I can swear to you that it made my skin clearer. Now, why I wanted to share? I've heard some of my cousins complaining of having bad complexion and breaking out recently. I heard that they've been switching skin care products but still not much improvement. I just hope this remedy can help anyone with skin problem to deal with it.

Yes, it's nothing but, instant plain oatmeal. The remedy I'm promoting is just to cleanse the face using instant oatmeal. If you skin is very problematic, red, inflamed and pimply, then use this remedy twice a day for cleansing. Believe me, after a week you can definitely see a difference. So after using for a month or so, my skin is obviously clearer!

Chinese New Year 2012

Chinese New Year coming again! Huhu! I'm going back hometown in another two days. Tomorrow is my final paper and after that I will be freeee!! Yay!

To be honest I've lost my mood for exam and now, I'm so emotional and eager to go home. Everybody is posting in FB that they're going back hometown, they're safely home.wtf! I wanna be at home too!!! Ish.. BEH TAHAN leh!

Every year I enjoyed my CNY at Ipoh all because I can feel the warmth and happiness in all my family members. Especially my parents, my mum. My mum is a very naggy, stubborn and sometimes not reasonable with certain things. She's also bad tempered some times. But during CNY she's totally a different person. When she sees her siblings (my uncles and aunts), she'll be so happy, joking around and laughing with them over silly things. I don't know how to say, but I can feel that during those times, she's much softer and easier to talk to. Approachable I would say. But she is still the best mum I have..

My dad..the happiest person on earth during CNY because he get to spend as much money as he wants. Other days, my mum would be nagging him for spending so much money on unnecessary things. But during CNY, she'll close one eyes and my dad, will be so crazy, especially when shopping for goods! You can see why:

The children: "Ba, this is so 'dai', two for only RM**. Worth buying."

The children: "Ba, this one nice or not? Nice ar? Emm..bit expensive. Nvm la. No money buy. Mummy dun let also"

Then dad's reply: "Mai la Mai la (Buy la buy la). So cheap must buy. Mummy dun buy? I buy."

So when we are purchasing goods for new year, you can see the trolley is as high as mountain. The receipt will be arounf RM5oo++ each time. This year we had two trolleys with mountains of goodies for CNY. Broke record already

What I really love during CNY is not getting the red packet. But I love to see the warmth and also the connection between everyone. We only get to see our long distance cousins once a year, and you can imagine how many stuff that we discuss. I enjoyed most is my when youngest aunt talking about her working experiences. She works as promoter in KLCC and she saw a lot of funny and crazy scenes and when she told it, it looks funny. Sometimes a little exaggerated. In fact, I'm closer to my uncles and aunts than my cousins, especially those younger ones. They don't approach me that much as compared to previous years. Perhaps is because I've became older?! Channel different.

I also love the CNY atmosphere. Every where is red colored and it gives a very strong emotional impact on me. I can feel very energized and happy.

Okay...I got to stop here. I'm getting emotional OMG. Go study first..=)

Emmmmm.... It's good to be devouring in good and delicious foods... I'm a person who loves to eat.. and loves to cook. To those who know me well, they know that I enjoy cooking and because of this, they labelled me as 'House-wife' wtf! Well, loves to doesn't mean a good wife. But I must admit that my passion for cooking has bring a bad effect to my hubby. Sobz.. His central obesity is worsening.. OMG! But he just seem to be ignoring it. Haiz...

Yesterday we both cooked together for lunch and the menu of the day is Home Made Fish and Chip.

So how to prepare this?

Ingredients:

(A) Dory fillet

~ Dory fillet

~ Salt

~ Lemon zest and juice

~ Corn flour

~ Egg

~ Bread crumb

(B) French fries

~ Potato

~ Salt

(C) Salad

~ Vegetables of your choice

~ Yogurt

~ Lemon juice

~ Black pepper (grind)

~ Pinch of Salt + Sugar

(D) Tartar sauce

~ Mayonnaise

~ Lemon juice

Steps:

Dory Fillet

1. Marinade the dory fillet with salt, lemon zest and juice for about 1/2 hour

2. Remove the excess water from dory fillet with kitchen towel

3. Coat dory fillet with corn flour evenly, then coat it with beaten egg

4. Lastly, coat the fillet with bread crumb. Be sure that it is coated evenly

5. Prepare oil in a wok. The right temperature for deep frying is 180 degree celcius, if you cannot measure the temperature, check it by dropping a little bread crumb into the oil. Sizzling and bubbling of the bread crumb indicate the right temperature.

6. Fry the fillet until golden brown. Remove it from the oil and drain off excess oil on kitchen towel or cooling rack

* REMEMBER to fry at the right temperature and heat. Control the burner to get the right heat. DO NOT cook the fillet with very high heat as it will over brown the coating of the fillet, but the fish is not cooked inside.

French fries

7. Cut potato into 1/2 x 1/2 inch size length wise (the length and size are flexible to you desire)

8. Soak the potato strips into salt water for 1/2 hour

9. Drain off excess water and use kitchen towel to dry it further

10. Set it aside for the water to further evaporates

11. Deep fry the potato just like the way of frying dory fillet.

Salad

12. Clean the vegetables and drain off excess water

13. Cut it to small pieces and put in a bowl

14. Add yogurt, black pepper, pinch of salt, sugar and some lemon juice.

15. Mix everything thoroughly

Tartar sauce

16. Simply mix evenly mayonnaise and lemon juice.

17. Serve everything on a plate and enjoy your home made fish and chips!

Bored studying..Hence, the Hair Painting

Haha.. I've just finished my 3rd paper for this semester. Yay! Now, just wanna do some update about my colored hair. Previously, I mentioned about 'painting' my hair. I was thinking.... "when to start coloring?" Then, this sudden urge to paint started when I was so stressful studying for exam last weekend...

You can see how depressed I look.. with my green tea and notes beside me.

So took some time to camwhored a little [u know me XD]

I spent RM50 book voucher given by government on books and also some kiddy stuff like coloring book and pencils.. Yup you did not read wrongly.. I bought coloring book and color pencils. When I was younger, drawing and coloring plus painting used to be my passion and also to de-stress. When I was in Popular, I thought, since I'm really stressed and sad, why not try indulging myself with my old passion again?! So, I bought those kiddy stuff with a story book. Reading is also my passion since young. I love story books but now, I get too used to reading magazine instead. So, now, with the free voucher, I get myself a book to read..

As you can see, the beautiful little highlighters also included in my shopping list. They actually have really cute faces on it. Owh..can't really see..but nvm, I'm on my drawing project of these cute faces. Will upload it when it is done!

So, I went ahead to dye my hair.. U can refer to the previous post about my plan of coloring my hair..

Ok.. This is the final product after rinsing off, and a day after. I took this under good lighting. The color is not vibrant, not really light brown. It's more towards dark brown after blending with my original black color..

This picture I took outside under bright sun light. As you can see, the color is more obvious here. I pretty loving the color actually. And, the treatment I did using the given conditioner and + with my HG hair moisturizer, OLIVE OIL, made my hair really really soft after dyeing..

I'm happy with my new change..^_^

Ups and Downs

Life is full of ups and downs.. It's like yo-yo effect. Once you reach high enough and your luck is at the max, the luck starts to go down...down till zero. That is the time when we will feel so bad and as if life is no longer meaningful. I'm feeling so depressed right now. I'm beginning to feel I'm more and more useless. I'm not good at whatever I did in the past. This semester shows me that I'm nobody..and I'm nothing.

Today I asked my friend, why 4th year seems to be very long to pass? He said, "We've passed the first sem. Very fast already." I guess he doesn't really get what I wanted to tell. I feel very very tired. My last year in Uni life is not really good. I cried many many times since the semester started. Every time I felt hopeless and stressed to go on, I broke down and cried like a baby.. My family would be worrying like hell and gave me encouragement to move on... I don't wanna make them worry anymore..but unfortunately, their daughter is just too weak and useless..

After my driving training just now, I felt I'm more useless.. Drive also fail. Do what also 'em dim'. I don't know I live for what right now...

Can someone just tell me go to hell and reborn, be something that won't have emotions and feelings? So that I won't have to feel depressed, happy or what..

Today I finally notice how weak I am. I used to think that I'm a strong girl, and in study aspect, though I'm no longer the smarty pants like I used to be, I thought I'm average. But these few days I knew too much news that showed to me..." Leong Lai Peng, you're just a useless girl and nobody ". Haha..Great news right?! Chosen for additional training (most probably I did terribly during clinical exam) and I'm the last 8 person in class to be chosen. Great.. Not only that, despite my hard work and effort to do my assignment, I'm labelled as 'copy cat' by her. How wonderful is that! Everyone gets to defend their work and get to add 1/2 marks at least for defending their work.. Me?!.. She doesn't even want to listen to my explanation. Worse is, she asked me what marks I got.

"6.5 Dr."

The reply: "Sorry I can't give you more. I know you going to cry soon.".. She walked off..

I nearly cried but I held back. She's pure evil saying that to me. You can just say she cant give me that's all..why still wanna add another extra kick?!

Just now, I went driving. Again prove to me that I'm totally ass hole. Fail totally and I know that no matter what I do, it won't be good. I shall just see how 'good' my results will be this sem...

WTH! Why am I caught up with you? Why do I need to face and know you? Why are you making everyone's life so miserable? Do you think you are always the RIGHT one? The LOGICAL one? The SENSIBLE one? The LENIENT one? Do you think you are the PHILOSOPHER?

I'm beginning to feel that you are ruining my study life. Previously I did respect you and I used to admire you despite you crazy "behavior". Now, I'm beginning to lose respect for you. I forgave you for being amnesia, for being very particular about our assignments..but, I cannot forgive you for being amnesia but not admitting that you are, I cannot forgive you for your obvious bias towards people you like, I cannot forgive you for simply assuming we are this and that..

You always say we do ridiculous, lousy work.. but do you really look at what we do without bias, without your crazy high-end standards and philosophy? I don't want to see you again...

Fruit of the Earth Aloe Vera Gel Review

Enough of random posts..Today, just wanna do a simple review on a skin care product. It's nothing but Fruit of the Earth Aloe Vera Gel... Alright!

Let me bring you to understand more about this product.

As you can see, I'm holding the product [and my face is telling you how much I love this baby here]. I've introduced this awesome product into my regimen and love it after using around 1 month. This product contains 100% Aloe vera gel. Yup..the aloe vera that we can get from the garden.. Do you know that aloe vera gel is very good for the skin? It has antibacterial property, anti-inflammatory, aids with digestion, heals cuts and wounds and so on..It also can relieves sun burn and dry skin. Aloe vera gel perfects as a skin moisturizer for dry skin, but I also notice that it's perfect for oily skin too like mine.

Reason? The gel consistency works well on oily skin because gel means less oil and more water inside it. Which means less oil to have potential to clog your pores. Erm..for me, I think this aloe vera gel is not moisturizing enough when used alone. I find that it's good to help regulating my sebum level, but, not moisturizing for my skin.. After watching some review on YouTube, I tried blending the gel with other moisturizer that I used which tends to make my skin oily after few hours.

Surprisingly, blending the aloe vera gel and my moisturizer (Cetaphil) in 2:1 ratio, the effect on my skin is perfect. My skin is matte, and moisturized. In addition, I used aloe vera gel as my healing gel for wounds. Dramatically, my wound healed in 5 days time. Awesome! After using this gel in my skin care routine, I can notice less pimples nowadays. Skin is no longer oily and flaky... Happy ^_^

But no matter how good product is, beauty is skin deep..It's also reflects you health and body. There's no point using expensive products, but your lifestyle, diet, rest and habit are terrible..

Remember to drink lots of water as water will flush out all the toxins from the body, making your body and skin hydrated. When your skin is hydrated,

less oil will be produced to hydrate it = less chances of breakouts..!

I drink a glass of green tea everyday as it is packed with antioxidants, detoxify and cleanse the body from inside out... Also, try get lots of sleep, find ways to release stress and if better go for exercise..

Planning for Painting my Hair

My hair is longer now so it's suitable to braid and style. As you can see, I've braided my hair. This style is french braid. At the top side of my hair it is the french braid, and reaching the side of my ear, it is the ordinary braid.. Usually this braiding can be used to create curled hair when left overnight.

I've bought Revlon Hair Color. The shade is in light brown color, so when it matches with my black hair, it will create a darker brown color. I've not tried it yet. Really excited! =) Finally I can have a different color hair for the coming CNY! Yay!

Today I had some fun curling my hair in two hours time WITHOUT heat! All I need was to get my hair damp, then start twisting..just like the video shown...

In this video, Bubbi made one twisted hair bun, but for myself I made 6 small little buns coz my hair is way shorter and making just one bun is no way for me... it will be very difficult to tie the bun..
